A.P.D. Sporting Club Tiro a Volo Piancardato is a premier shooting facility sprawling across 30 hectares in the municipality of Collazzone, Umbria, Italy. It serves as a world-class arena for elite competitions, frequently hosting the World and European FITASC Sporting Championships, the Precision Rifle 22LR World Championship, and large-scale national FITAV tournaments. The standout feature of this range is its extreme, natural terrain, which incorporates deep gullies, forests, and cliffs. This unique landscape allows target-throwing machines to be expertly hidden, creating unpredictable and highly challenging flight paths that simulate real hunting conditions.

The facility is highly multidisciplinary and equipped with top-tier technology. It boasts a massive technical park with over 150 automated throwing machines capable of launching specialized 70mm targets that maintain stability over long distances. The diverse shooting areas include:

  • 15+ Specialised Fields: 8 clay pigeon fields (including Compak and itinerant Sporting paths), 5 ball/bullet shooting fields, a dynamic pistol shooting field (up to 50 meters), and a Precision Rifle Area reaching up to 400 meters.

  • Advanced Equipment: Multidirectional oscillating traps for the "Fossa Cacciatori" discipline, moving boar simulators (45–50 meters), and metallic gong targets for long-range practice.

  • Tactical Capabilities: Elevated shooting platforms and integrated zones often used for testing night vision and thermal optics in partnership with leading brands.

Led by President Marsilio Palermi, Piancardato offers highly adaptable training programs for all skill levels. Elite athletes utilize the facility for intensive multi-day preparations ahead of global championships, taking advantage of the extreme trajectories. Meanwhile, the complex is remarkably accessible for beginners, who can safely practice the Sporting discipline using standard hunting shotguns without the immediate need for highly specialized, expensive gear.

Beyond individual and team sports, the complex caters to a broad audience, serving as a dynamic event and hospitality hub. Piancardato is uniquely capable of rapidly deploying temporary shooting zones to accommodate massive crowds of up to 3,500 participants. It also functions as a full recreational resort, offering corporate team-building events, culinary classes, local tastings, and fully planned banquets or weddings.

This logistical autonomy is supported by an excellent on-site infrastructure designed for comfort and sustainability. The property includes a Club House with a bar and restaurant, alongside a dedicated hotel offering standard rooms, spacious family suites (Eden and Privilege), and accessible accommodations for people with disabilities. Families and non-shooting guests can enjoy a pet-friendly environment, access to a swimming pool at the partner Country House, and a fully enclosed ecosystem that strictly follows environmental protocols for recycling spent cartridges and lead.
