The FITASC Compak Sporting Grand Prix of Crete was a premier international clay target shooting competition held from July 25th to July 26th, 2015. This prestigious Mediterranean tournament brought together elite continental marksmen to compete at the scenic Chania National Shooting Range on the island of Crete, Greece.
Event Highlights & Visual Analysis
Based on the official event promotional banner, the tournament design integrated strong Cretan cultural heritage with prominent international and governmental partnerships:
Background & National Symbols: The main banner context displays a waving light blue and white Greek national flag background, paired at the bottom center with a map outline silhouette of the island of Crete.
Cultural Mascot: Features a traditional cartoon illustration on the left depicting a Cretan character dressed in authentic regional attire—including a black head wrap, red sash belt, black breeches, and tall white boots—proudly holding a shotgun over his shoulder.
Sanctioning Architecture: Globally authorized by FITASC and organized in coordination with major domestic bodies represented by their official crests:
SKOLEK (ΣΚΟΛΕΚ - Shooting Club of Crete / Σκοπευτική Λέσχη Κρήτης)
SKOE (ΣΚΟΕ - Hellenic Shooting Federation emblem at the upper right)
National Shooting Range of Chania (Εθνικό Σκοπευτήριο Χανίων - circular anchor and flag emblem)
Corporate & Government Endorsements: Supported heavily by global elite firearms giants Beretta and Česká Zbrojovka (CZ) alongside institutional backing from the Hellenic Republic / Region of Crete (Ελληνική Δημοκρατία - Περιφέρεια Κρήτης).
