Dornsberg Shooting Ground (Dornsberg Schützen e.V.) is widely recognized as one of Europe's most beautiful and challenging clay shooting grounds. Located in the picturesque Hegau region of Germany on the estate of Count Douglas, it offers a unique combination of elite sporting challenges and a serene nature experience. Under the leadership of President and German shooting champion Markus Leibinger, the facility caters to everyone from professional athletes to beginners and corporate groups.
The ground is a premier destination for high-profile international and national tournaments. The event calendar features major competitions such as the German Nationals (DSB DM Parcours), the Perazzi Cup, and the Blaser Cup. These events often draw around 200 top-tier competitors and are celebrated not only for their technical difficulty but also for their excellent organization, complete with shuttle bus services and vibrant BBQ evenings with live music.
The infrastructure at Dornsberg is engineered to provide an unparalleled shooting experience, utilizing extreme natural topography that includes sweeping valleys and dense woodlands. Key features of the facility include:
23 distinct shooting stands spread across five main lines (A through E).
Nearly 200 state-of-the-art automated throwing machines capable of simulating highly complex target trajectories, including rolling rabbits.
A fleet of rentable Kawasaki Mules (off-road vehicles) to help visitors navigate the expansive terrain.
The on-site Profi-Shop for equipment registration and the panoramic Dornsberg Restaurant, which can host up to 200 guests.
Dornsberg sets the gold standard for ecological responsibility in shooting sports. The complex operates under strict environmental guidelines to protect the surrounding forest:
A complete ban on lead; only soft iron (steel) ammunition with specific photodegradable wad requirements is permitted.
Exclusive use of environmentally friendly, PAH-free Corsivia "Green Dream" clay targets.
Targets are dyed with food coloring that fades under UV light and rain, allowing fragments to become unnoticeable in nature while they naturally biodegrade.
The venue is highly versatile, appealing to a broad spectrum of visitors. Professional shooters can test their skills on FITASC-level layouts, while beginners can learn safely through dedicated hunting simulations and expert coaching at the Shooting Academy. Additionally, the premium restaurant and flawless logistics make it a top choice for corporate team-building outings, anniversary celebrations, and private parties.
