Established on September 28, 1988, by its founding and current president Flavio Canciani, ASD Tiro a Volo Porpetto has evolved from a passionate local initiative into the third-largest clay target shooting facility in Italy. Located in the flatlands of the "La Foredana" region within the Udine province, this Olympic-class range enjoys a highly strategic geographic position near the borders of Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia. This exceptional logistical setup makes it a premier international hub, with foreign athletes comprising approximately 20% of the club's active membership.

The facility holds a distinguished reputation as a regular training ground for world-renowned elite athletes, including Olympic Skeet champion Chiara Cainero and Olympic Trap gold medalist Giovanni Cernogoraz. Cernogoraz actively participates in the venue's exclusive "Shooting Data Camps" powered by Beretta. These immersive camps provide shooters with professional-level tools, covering physical and nutritional preparation, mental focus training, gun mechanics, and precise ballistic tracking.

Following extensive regional modernization and expansion works completed in late 2025, TAV Porpetto features top-tier athletic infrastructure. The range is equipped with ten multi-functional shooting fields featuring advanced automation and real-time electronic scoring systems integrated with "GEstGare" software. Additionally, the complex utilizes powerful artificial lighting for night shooting tournaments, and its completely flat landscape provides an ideal visual horizon that guarantees highly stable and predictable target flights.

A core component of the venue’s mission is its focus on developing the youth sector ("nuove leve") and promoting the Paralympic discipline of Paratrap. Through heavily subsidized packages (such as free coaching, target series, and cartridges for CAS youth members), the club's junior team has grown exponentially. Furthermore, TAV Porpetto is highly dedicated to inclusivity, offering completely free registration, room, and board to Paratrap category athletes during major events like the Alpe Adria Cup.

TAV Porpetto has a long history of organizing highly acclaimed sports forums, regional FITAV championships, and cross-border cups. The range is officially slated to host the highly prestigious ISSF Junior World Cup Shotgun in September 2026, welcoming dozens of international delegations. Alongside elite sports, the range features an inviting Club House with a bar, a designated light catering area, and partnerships with nearby hotels and restaurants, making it perfectly suited for corporate team-building, private banquets, and recreational family visits.
