Established in 1956, the ASD Tiro a Volo Fagnano (TAV Fagnano) shooting complex is a historic and prestigious clay target shooting center located in the scenic commune of Fagnano Olona, in the province of Varese (Lombardy region). Starting as a modest single-field layout built by local hunting enthusiasts and shooters, the club quickly gained international acclaim, hosting pre-Olympic trials and the Italian First Category Championships for three consecutive years. Today, it stands as a modern, Olympic-grade sports complex that seamlessly combines a cutting-edge training facility with a rich culture of hospitality, attracting both elite athletes and novices without a firearm license.

The complex’s technical profile features four versatile shooting fields, two of which are permanently dedicated to the Olympic Trench (Fossa Olimpica) and one to the Hunting Path (Percorso di Caccia). The range layout is highly flexible and scalable; a third Olympic trench is opened during high-attendance tournaments, and the hunting field can be temporarily converted for trench use. Additionally, the facility hosts a specialized practice area operated by the Airguns Lombardia association, which supports high-precision air rifle shooting in the Field Target and Hunter Field Target disciplines.

TAV Fagnano’s greatest pride is its Federal Shooting School and the C.A.S. (Centro Avviamento allo Sport) youth sector for teenagers aged 12 to 20. Training is conducted by world-class experts, including former club president Mauro Bassi—a 3rd-level FITAV Federal Coach and international academy instructor with over 40 years of experience—and Alberto Bassi, who coordinates private Saturday morning lessons. The school’s innovative curriculum uniquely integrates shooting technique with theories from neuroscience, physiology, anatomy, psychosomatics, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), and mental coaching, while the Neofitav project offers free introductory sessions for beginners.

A complete on-site service loop is guaranteed by the facility's comprehensive amenities. The range features the professional Armeria Bassi gun shop, which offers a wide selection of new and used firearms, ammunition, outdoor clothing, and small gunsmithing repairs. Social and corporate gatherings are accommodated at the cozy bar and restaurant (available upon reservation), beautifully immersed in the greenery of the Olona Valley (Valle Olona), which provides customized catering for corporate events.

Logistically, the complex is exceptionally well-positioned, offering fast access to Lombardy’s major highways and Milan Malpensa Airport. For multi-day competition participants, several comfortable hotels are situated just minutes away, including the MO.OM Hotel, DoubleTree by Hilton Solbiate Olona, and Le Robinie. The mild climate of Lombardy allows for year-round training, with seasonal schedules dynamically adjusted to the natural daylight hours.
