Durbanville Shooting Club (DSK), established in 1978, is a premier shooting destination located on the historic Groot Phesantekraal farm in Cape Town. With over 46 years of heritage and nearly 1,000 members, it provides a safe and professional environment for both recreational and competitive shooters. The club is renowned for its welcoming "community of enthusiasts" atmosphere and its commitment to promoting shooting sports across all experience levels.
The club offers a comprehensive suite of accredited ranges that cater to various disciplines, with all rifle and handgun firing points being enclosed and undercover to ensure comfort in all weather conditions.
Disciplines and Ranges:
25m Handgun Range: Dedicated area for pistol practice and competitions.
100m & 500m Rifle Ranges: A rare long-distance facility in the region, ideal for precision and high-caliber shooting.
Shotgun Range: Fully equipped for Trap, Skeet, and Sporting Clays.
The terrain of the shotgun area, set against a backdrop of blue gum trees, offers "interesting" and challenging target trajectories that often require intense focus to track. The 500m rifle range is particularly affected by local wind conditions, making it a high-skill venue for precision shooters and hunters looking to practice in real-world scenarios.
