Wattlespring Sports Shooting Club

Bronkhorstspruit, South Africa

The Wattlespring Sports Shooting Club is a premium, integrated sports complex spanning 400 hectares of scenic, rolling Highveld plains, conveniently located just 20 minutes from East Pretoria. The club is strategically positioned as a versatile base catering to both professional athletes and families, offering world-class shooting ranges alongside full hospitality and recreational services. Its expansive, secluded area makes it an ideal destination for high-quality, focused training, while maintaining excellent logistical access.

Wattlespring's core competitive advantage is its uncompromising adherence to international technical standards, confirmed by the use of world-class Promatic equipment, including the automated Claymate target counting systems. This technological investment ensures high transparency and precision for competitive events. Furthermore, the club's high-altitude location (over 1,300m) provides a unique ballistic benefit for elite athlete preparation: the reduced air density causes targets to fly faster and further, simulating the challenging conditions encountered at major international competitions. The complex hosts a powerful coaching team featuring ISSF Shotgun D certified coaches who specialize in Olympic disciplines, FITASC, and English Sporting. This combination of certified expertise, cutting-edge infrastructure, and comprehensive on-site lodging (luxury chalets and a restaurant) transforms Wattlespring into a functional, autonomous training center for national teams and professional shooting squads, as well as a premier location for corporate events and family retreats.

Competitive Specialization

The range is equipped to host national championships and international qualifiers across multiple formats:

  • FITASC and English Sporting

  • Olympic disciplines (Olympic Trap, Skeet) and ATA Trap

  • Rifle and Handgun competitions
