The Africa Sporting Championship, which served as the Finale of the Beretta Africa Cup 2021, was a major clay target shooting tournament held from March 16th to March 17th, 2021. The event took place at the Wattlespring Sport Shooting Club in Boksburg, South Africa. The shooting course for this event was designed by Ian Grimmbacher.

1. Program Schedule

The official shooting program spanned several days of practice and competition for the Sporting discipline:

  • March 11th & 12th: Practice ranges were open from 09:00 to 17:00.

  • March 13th & 14th: Preliminary competition days.

  • March 15th: Practice ranges were open from 09:00 to 17:00, followed by the Opening Ceremony at 18:00.

  • March 16th: FITASC African Sporting Championship – 1st day (100 targets).

  • March 17th: FITASC African Sporting Championship – 2nd day (100 targets).

  • March 17th: Prize-Giving ceremonies for both the Africa Cup (Sporting) and FITASC Sporting.

2. Event Highlights & Affiliations

  • The tournament was an official stage of the Beretta FITASC Cups.

  • Shooter performances directly contributed to the Gamebore FITASC World Rankings.

  • The championship proudly featured the FITASC centenary emblem, celebrating "100 Years of Sports Shooting 1921-2021".

  • The event was organized and supported by the Clay Target Shooting Association of South Africa (CTSASA) and Compak South Africa.
