Shooting Ground

Bányavölgyi Lőtér is a premium, field-type shooting range beautifully integrated into the natural forest landscape of Galgamácsa, Pest County. Located just an hour's drive from the center of Budapest, it provides a perfect balance between a wild natural environment and modern, high-quality infrastructure. The facility is dedicated to preserving classic civil shooting culture, offering a safe and elegant environment for both recreational and professional shooters.

The defining feature of the range is its founder, Zoltán Szabó, a Hungarian veteran shooting champion, and his implementation of the British APSI (Association of Professional Shooting Instructors) educational methodology. Rather than mass-producing lessons, the range focuses on highly personalized, one-on-one training sessions. Instructors prioritize proper ergonomics, safe handling, and an elegant shooting style, transforming the act of shooting into a refined skill.

The complex boasts an extensive array of facilities designed to accommodate various shooting disciplines and skill levels. Its layout allows for multiple simultaneous activities while maintaining strict safety protocols. The key facilities and equipment include:

  • Clay pigeon fields: Integrated into the challenging natural forest terrain to simulate real hunting scenarios.

  • Rifle ranges: A 300-meter and a 75-meter high-precision rifle track for long-distance ballistics (online booking required).

  • Running target (futóvad): A specialized installation for practicing shots on moving game.

  • Pistol platform: A dedicated area for short-distance handgun and revolver training.

  • Impressive arsenal: Available for rent, ranging from.22 LR rifles and 9mm pistols to a heavy.458 caliber "Elephant Gun".

The venue is highly active in hosting both professional competitions and corporate events. It regularly serves as the location for the Pest County Professional Hunters' Competition, unique historical shooting tournaments like the "Coboly Eksön" (Wild West Walk), and chamber competitions. Additionally, Bányavölgyi Lőtér is renowned for its exceptional corporate teambuilding packages, which can accommodate groups of up to 40 people and often culminate in exclusive banquets featuring traditional wild game dishes.

The services, infrastructure, and instructional models are meticulously designed to cater to a wide variety of guests:

  • Beginners: Can safely learn basic handling and overcome their fear of recoil without needing a firearms license, guided closely by professional instructors.

  • Sportsmen and Hunters: Can practice complex trajectories, prepare for the hunting season, and study long-distance ballistics.

  • Corporate Teams: Can build camaraderie through structured "carousel-style" shooting programs and shared culinary experiences.

  • Families and Friends: Can enjoy a unique outdoor recreational experience combining safety, nature, and relaxation.

Directions

  • Directions: After passing the Galgamácsa exit sign towards Galgagyörk, turn right at the old drive-in cinema and follow the forest dirt road for approximately 3 kilometers until you reach the range.

Opening Hours

  • Tuesday – Sunday: 09:00 – 16:00

  • Monday: Closed (Note: The 300-meter and 75-meter rifle ranges require mandatory prior online booking.)
