Haljala Jahilasketiir is a modern sports and hunting shooting range located in Lääne-Virumaa, Estonia, just 4.1 kilometers from Haljala. Originally a degraded landfill site, the area underwent a unique ecological revitalization funded by the European LEADER program. The initial project successfully cleared the old landfill, and the excavated soil was repurposed to build large protective berms for safety and noise reduction. Today, this artificial, uneven terrain offers an exceptional setting for simulating complex, unpredictable target trajectories.
The facility is a premier destination for high-level shooting sports, hosting major national and international events. It serves as a regular venue for the Estonian Sporting Championships and multi-day national hunting festivals organized by the Estonian Hunters' Society (EJS). Notably, it has hosted international tournaments such as the FITASC Compak Sporting Grand Prix of Estonia, which attracts top competitors from multiple countries. The range easily accommodates both individual events and team competitions across shotgun and rifle disciplines.
The shooting range is functionally divided into two main zones: a shotgun area for sporting disciplines and a certified 50-meter track equipped with moving silhouettes for large game exams. Key infrastructure features include:

Managed by the non-profit MTÜ Jahilaskmine, the facility's operations are spearheaded by Kristo Lipp, an active athlete licensed in practical hunting shooting. The training environment caters to diverse skill levels, allowing beginners to learn basic safety, hunters to zero their optics, and professionals to refine their wind-reading techniques. Furthermore, mandatory state large game shooting tests are strictly administered on-site by a certified expert, Alar Randoja.

Working Hours
Wednesdays: 17:00 – 21:00 (Large game shooting tests, open from May 1 to September 30).
Thursdays: Evening hours (Shotgun shooting, open from April 1 to September 30).
Other Days: Closed for regular access, but available by prior arrangement or during scheduled sporting events.
