Auchterhouse Country Sports is a premier, multi-award-winning shooting facility located in the scenic Angus countryside, just outside Dundee. Managed by the Christie family, the ground has earned the title of "Scotland’s Favourite Shooting Ground" and was ranked 1st in the UK by Clay Shooting Magazine in 2020. The facility's defining "feature" is its world-class leadership; Senior Instructor Drew Christie is a Commonwealth Games Silver medalist, ensuring that the training provided is rooted in international-level expertise.
The venue is a hub for major competitions, regularly hosting SCTA selection shoots for Olympic Skeet, Olympic Trap, and National Sporting disciplines, as well as prestigious Home International tournaments. Spanning 90 acres, the terrain offers a challenging variety of target flights influenced by the local relief and climate. One of the most famous technical assets is the 80ft "High Tower," which can launch targets up to 180ft, perfectly simulating high-flying game like pheasant.
